6:5 - "...the word of God was liberal unto all, that none were deprived of the privilege of assembling themselves together to hear the word of God..."
This is important - everybody is welcome to hear the word of God - at least they should be.
We should never exclude anyone from the word of God - it is up to God to do any exclusion if he sees fit. It's not our place to judge others like that - it is very prideful.
6:6 - "...join in fasting and mighty prayer in behalf of the welfare of the souls of those who knew not God..."
With fasting, be cautious about "limits." You can fast for other people - you're not limited to just fasting for yourself. You can fast for more than one thing - you're not limited to just one. The point is to make it completely sincere!

Sometimes it is easier to have faith that somebody else is going to be healed, helped, etc. We should also work on our personal faith that we, too, can be healed and helped. We can have the great blessings of the Gospel, if we believe and work for them.
There are many gifts of the spirit - including two important ones - the faith to heal, and the faith to be healed. Like all gifts of the spirit, each one of these can be developed.

ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I'm sure you've noticed by now that there are multiple insights for each chapter. This is because I've gone through the Book of Mormon multiple times for this project and wrote down the thoughts. Now I'm just going through the process of digitizing the insights. I'd like to point out that one year my Book of Mormon study was to find something that related to Faith in EVERY chapter in the Book of Mormon. You'll find as you look back over the whole project (and in future posts) that at least one of the insights will be about Faith. While the insights may not relate to Faith in blessing others and ourselves, the insights will range in many different ways of looking at Faith. I thought you might like to know that. :)
