This is a project years in the making of some of the insights and comments I have about each chapter in the Book of Mormon. Come along for the journey.

Mosiah Chapter 12
12:19 - "...Abinadi withstood them in all their questions..."
When we are living our lives in such as way that we have the Spirit with us at all times, we will be able to be guided to say what needs to be said, and withstand all that needs to be withstood.
We have our own proverbial Priests of Noah. For some, it may be a co-worker or family member...for others it may be themselves. In Abinadi's case, his Priests of Noah were the actual Priests of Noah.
He showed a great example of how we should be following the Spirit.
12:27 - "...apply your hearts to understanding...be wise..."
That's the best way to live. If we work to be wise and apply ourselves to understanding, then we will be more empathetic to the people we know.
They don't need to be judged...they need help and support.
12:29-30,37 - "...if ye teach the law of Moses why do ye not keep it..."
The Priests of Noah claimed to preach the Law of Moses, and yet they didn't follow it themselves. This is much worse than disobedience. This is claiming obedience and teaching obedience, yet living in hypocrisy.
If we truly want the blessings of obedience, we must follow what we preach, and do so willingly and cheerfully. I'm grateful for laws, but we shouldn't need to have any. If we truly understood the doctrines of the gospel, we would be living in such a way that we wouldn't be violating those laws in the first place.
