Mosiah Chapter 16

16:1-2 - "...The time shall come when all shall see the salvation of the Lord; when every nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye and shall cconfess before God that his judgments are just. And then shall the wicked be cast out..."
If we wish to not be cast out, then we must hearken unto the voice of the Lord.  This means that we keep the commandments, and follow the Spirit, and act in faith on His name.

16:6 - "...and now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption..."
Abinadi speaks as though the Savior had already come...I like that, because I know I would live differently if the Second Coming had already happened.  So why not live that way right now?  It will bring a lot more happiness!

16:13 - "...and now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?"
We need that faith.  We need to remember that we can't do it on our own.  We need the partnership of the Lord to cover for the many, many areas that we lack.  It's like playing doubles' tennis with Roger Federer on your side, or team best-ball golf with Tiger Woods on your team.  You gain these benefits, and you put your own efforts in.  Sure you will get a nice shot in now and then, but it's the Savior who really does the heavy lifting.  But to win as a team, you still have to follow the rules and hit your ball.  You have to do what the Lord requires.

  1. Like 16:6 point. We can choose to live as though the 2nd coming has happened. Live the way we would live then - with the love of the Lord in our hearts. :)
