14:11 - "...If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
I really like the recently created Joseph Smith video because it shows Joseph Smith Sr. taking his time to make a special gift for one of his sons. It was very thoughtful, and highlighted that we know that our Father will give even better gifts if we will ask Him.
That's what we need to do (D&C 6:5).
14:20 - "...Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them..."
You can know somebody and their intentions by their fruits, whether good or evil.
Elder M. Russell Ballard talked about this in the November 2007 Ensign, pg. 25-27 - he talked about sharing the gospel with others - that we don't have to be detailed - just specific and to the point, and let the fruits speak for themselves.
We don't have to be long-winded to be effective missionaries! Short and to the point can be much more effective sometimes.
14:21 - "...Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven..."
Faith is much more than saying, "I believe" - it's acting on that belief and trusting while we act and when we can't do everything. We try everything we can do and trust the Lord to help take care of where we lack.
We must try - and trust.
