Helaman Chapter 10

10:4 - "...Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people..."
It is our responsibility to share the gospel - not only with people not of our faith, but also with members.
We will be blessed as we do so (verse 5).

10:4-11 - "...And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever...And now behold, I command you, that ye shall go and declare unto this people, that thus saith the Lord God, who is the Almighty: Except ye repent ye shall be smitten, even unto destruction..."
The Lord in these verses comforts Nephi, blesses him, and then commands him to go and preach.  This shows that Nephi had great faith in the Lord, but also that the Lord had great faith in Nephi.
The more we are faithful, the more the Lord can have faith in us and trust us to be effective instruments in His hands.

10:13 - "...Now behold, notwithstanding that great miracle which Nephi had done in telling them concerning the death of the chief judge, they did harden their hearts and did not hearken unto the words of the Lord..."
Even though Nephi had shown them a great sign, they hardened their hearts.
We can't use great miracles to base our faith, but they can help open ourselves up to receiving more of the gift of faith.
It is interesting, because this was a major event among the Nephites, that should have convinced the people that they needed to repent, yet they didn't.

We need to repent daily and not need the 'big events' to make us repent.
