This is a project years in the making of some of the insights and comments I have about each chapter in the Book of Mormon. Come along for the journey.

3 Nephi Chapter 3
3:7-8 - "...yield yourselves up unto us, and unite with us and become acquainted with our secret works, and become our brethren that ye may be like unto us..."
Misery loves company, and so does wickedness.
We need to watch out for Satan's invitations to join him. It's up to us to always keep the commandments and do what is right. Satan uses good things to try to pull us into sin.
It's also interesting that at one point Osama Bin Laden offered to Bush to "Join in the Brotherhood of Islam."
3:12 - "...this Lachoneus, the governor, was a just man, and could not be frightened by the demands and the threatenings of a robber..."
Lachoneus was not frightened, but did cry unto the Lord for strength.
This is the key - turn to the Lord and you shall not fear but have faith.
This helps with holding up the shield of faith against the fiery darts of the adversary.
3:20-21 - "...But Gidgiddoni saith unto them: The Lord forbid; for if we should go up against them the Lord would deliver us into their hands..."
Gidgiddoni knew that you defend and not attack unless the Lord says so.
This shows us the default - what we should do unless otherwise commanded. It's the course we should normally take (3 Nephi 4:30-33).
3:26 - "...And they were exceedingly sorrowful because of their enemies..."
This is the kind of attitude that we must have. If we have faith that our 'enemies' can change, then we will be sorrowful for their sins.
And we will try to help them.
